Teaching Positions

Members in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers who are interested in a teaching position are to apply to Gary Michael at: virtual.schooling@yrdsb.edu.on.ca. Send a resume, cover letter, OCT membership number and references along with Evaluation information as follows:

1. Teachers, who are currently employed on permanent contract with YRDSB, are to submit the name and phone number of the person who conducted your most recent Teacher Performance Appraisal along with your overall performance rating. A copy of the TPA does not need to be submitted.
   
2. Teachers, who are not currently employed on permanent contract with YRDSB, are to submit an electronic version or scanned copy of your most recent Teacher Performance Appraisal … the entire document must be submitted. Also send the name and phone number of the person who conducted the TPA and the name and phone number of your current Principal. If you do not currently have a TPA, do not apply until you have one.
   
3. Recent grads from a Faculty of Education are to submit all copies of your practicum evaluations.
   
4. Teachers who have had a long term assignment (more than 2 months) within the past 6 months are to submit a letter of recommendation (including specific comments related to planning, instruction and evaluation, communication skills, competence in curriculum areas, professionalism and classroom management) from the Principal/Vice-Principal of the school.

N.B. Applications from teachers who do not fall into any of the 4 categories above will not be considered.
